New Delhi, Dec 3:  Brahamdagh Bugti (President and founder of the Baloch Republican Party) who is seeking political asylum in India will seek some respite as security agencies have put a final stamp on his asylum. However, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) may ask the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to take a final call on Bugti’s asylum.

The Baloch leader  had applied for asylum at the Indian consulate in Geneva in September this year. ( Narendra Modi understands pain of our people: Baloch leader)

Leading English newspaper Indian Express reported that India does not have an asylum policy and Bugti’s decision will be taken by MEA in consultation with Prime Minister’s Office.

Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) has not stated any objections to MHA in Bugti’s case while Intelligence Bureau (IB) found nothing negative against the Baloch leader. MHA is waiting to hear from RAW.

According to the sources, the government might make an announcement post Winter Session of Parliament.

Officials of government said that Bugti may be granted a long-term visa, or he could be given registration certificate on the lines of Tibet refugees.
