CAT 2016 exam tomorrow Dec 4: Do's and Dont's for the exam

Common Admission Test (CAT ) exam 2016 will be conducted tomorrow December 4 across India.  The CAT exam will be conducted in 138 cities. Aspirants who are looking forward to join some of the premier  institutes such as IIMs and other B-schools for flagship programmes which include  PGP 2017-19 and other programmes in 20 IIMs and other top rated B schools like FMS, MDI, IMI, NITIE, SPJIMR, IMT, BIMTECH, TAPMI, XIMB, Great Lakes among others. Aspirants are also required to note that the result will be declared in the 2nd week of January 2017. Lakhs of candidates have registered for the exam proving it to be one of the most competitive management exam. Aspirants are required to note that the scaled scores for each section (Section I: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Section II: Data Interpretation and Logical
Reasoning (DILR), and Section III: Quantitative Ability (QA)) and total along with the percentiles will be published.

Aspirants are required to note that the registration and application fee for CAT 2016 is Rs. 1700/- (increased from earlier Rs.1600/-) and to be paid online only. According to CAT 2016 exam Centre the fee is Rs.1700 for General and NC-OBC Candidates. Aspirants are required to note that on the day of the test, the candidates’ digital finger print scan will be captured,  candidates whose finger prints will be digitally scanned due to reasons like application of mehndi/henna/any cosmetic colour, etc., will not be permitted to take the test; it is strongly recommended that candidates avoid applying mehndi on their hands (palm side) for at least five days prior to the test. The CAT convener also mentioned some do and don’t for the exam which are as follows:

  • Any kind of watch, mobile phone, earphones, microphones, pager, health-band or any other electronic gadget, any printed/blank/hand-written paper, pencil box, pouch, calculator, etc. is not allowed inside the test centre.
  • Candidates wearing shoes or any other closed footwear will have to leave the footwear (including socks) outside the examination hall; they will be allowed to wear open footwear like sandals, etc.
  • All CAT 2016 applicants are required to be aware of the local weather conditions in their Test City (rains in Puducherry & Tamil Nadu, or dense fog in northern India), and plan accordingly to reach the test venue on time.
  • The Admit Card (plus scribe affidavit, if applicable) will be collected by the test invigilator and will be returned to you. These will be retained by the invigilator. ALSO READ: CAT 2016: CAT Convener issues important instructions for aspirants
