The Fire and Rescue Department has successfully contained two pythons which swallowed two goats.

An approximately seven-metre snake was detained around 10am in Kuala Balai in the Belait District. Three firefighters were rushed to the scene led by Acting Assistant Station Officer, Rosli bin Sabli.

In the last month, the department caught another five-metre python which previously swallowed a goat in Kuala Balai.

On the same week of the last month, a python which preyed upon a chicken and a cat was also caught at Kampong Sungai Teraban, Mumong.

The department is advising the public to be extra careful as snakes usually appear during the rainy season.
