GMSSS-10: Earth House wins overall trophy

THE EARTH House won the overall trophy in the third annual sports meet of the Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 10, on Friday. More than 550 athletes took part in the sports meet, which saw the four houses — Sun, Earth, Moon and Star — and there were performances by fencing and gymnastic teams of the school.

The meet saw athletes competing in events like 100 M race, 400 M relay race, long jump and slow cycling. Rubinderjit Singh Brar (PCS), Director School Education, Chandigarh, was the chief guest on the occasion while S K Setia (former DPI Schools) and currently director, Swarna Jayanti Celebrations Authority, Haryana, awarded medals and trophies to the winning students. The closing ceremony was presided over by Navdeep Brar, SP (City), Chandigarh Police.
