AUSTRALIA

Baumgartners, Melbourne, has joined international professional firm association Alliott Group. The three-partner, 48-staff accounting firm was established in 1983 and now serves a predominantly corporate client base with accounting, audit, tax and other financial services.

CONNECTICUT

BlumShapiro Consulting, a division of Blum, Shapiro & Co. PC, West Hartford, announced that its client IntegraMed, a specialty health care services company, has received a 2016 Intacct Customer Success Award. 

FLORIDA

International firm association Abacus Worldwide has reached 50 member firms; its members have combined global revenues of $130 million, with 1,400 staff and 71 offices in 33 countries collectively.

ILLINOIS

Sikich LLP has been named to the Chicago Tribune’s Top Workplaces list for the fifth time, ranking No. 16 in the Midsized Category.
 

MASSACHUSETTS

AAFCPAs, Westborough, participated in #GivingTuesday on November 29, matching employee gifts and collectively donating $13,000 to charitable nonprofits, as well as distributing donations of art supplies, craft kits, coloring books and crayons for children in need.

MICHIGAN

Clayton & McKervey, Detroit, launched a new German web site, at de.claytonmckervey.com, for German companies considering expansion to the U.S. Separately, the firm was named one of the world’s leading transfer pricing advisory firms by International Tax Review.

 

PENNSYLVANIA

Baker Tilly Virchow Krause LLP was named a Best Place to Work in PA for 2016, ranking No. 11 in the Large Companies Category. In addition, the firm’s State College office has moved to 1423 North Atherton Street on the second floor of the M&T Bank building. And 11 team members in the Harrisburg office recently participated in the Day of Caring sponsored by the United Way of the Capital Region, spreading mulch at Penn and Dauphin Park and spreading mulch and weeding at Reservoir Park.

 

RHODE ISLAND

The Rhode Island Young Accountants Network Committee held its 4th Annual Rhode Island Society of CPAs Olympics in early November, raising over $4,500 in goods and supplies for needy families and households. (See the story.)
