JODHPUR: The Rajasthan High Court on Friday granted three-day interim bail to Malkhan Singh Bishnoi, one of the main accused of the sensational Bhanwari Devi abduction and murder case.
Justice P K Lohra has granted this bail to enable Bishnoi to attend to the post-death social customs of his cousin.
According to special counsel for CBI, Ashok Joshi, the court has granted the bail for three days from December 3 to December 5 to attend the death customs of his cousin amid police security.

Before this, the same plea had been allowed by the trial court, however, with a condition to deposit Rs 30,000 per day for three days for police expenditure.
Upon this, Bishnoi challenged the order of the trial court in the high court, which, though, allowed the interim bail application but referring to the deposit order by the trial court, directed the amount to be deposited as per the police rules.
Before this, Bishnoi had been granted interim bail in October for five days to attend the post-death ceremonies of his uncle. This plea, however, was rejected by the trial court and Bishnoi had to move the high court.
Bishnoi is currently lodged in Ajmer Central Jail for security reasons and fair trial of the case in pursuance of the plea of CBI to shift him to a jail out of Jodhpur.
