Hisar offices to accept payment on PoS mode

HISAR: To facilitate cashless transactions, the district administration is buying 2,500 card swipe machines, which will to be installed at government offices in the next two weeks.

To facilitate cashless transactions, the district administration is buying 2,500 card swipe machines, which will to be installed at government offices in the next two weeks.

Additional Chief Secretary SN Roy held a meeting with the district officials here today in which it was decided to take measures to end the problems being faced by people due to shortage of cash.

The officials decided to rope in postgraduate youths enrolled under the Saksham scheme.

Deputy Commissioner Nikhil Gajraj said they had placed an order to procure 2,500 card swipe machines that would be installed primarily in the offices of Power Corporation, Municipal Corporation, Public Health, Haryana Urban Development Authority, Roadways, hospitals, e-Disha, and Tehsil.

People have to deposit various kinds of bills, fees etc at these places.

He said colleges, universities, private hospitals, hotels and restaurants had also been told to install point of sale (PoS) machines at the earliest.

The officials also directed petrol pump operators to install swipe machines by Friday night.

Toll plazas and privates schools have been told to follow suit.
