Gangotri MLA inaugurates 122-m bridge

Gangotri MLA Vijaypal Sajwan and Uttarkashi DM Dipendar Chaudhry inaugurated 122-meter Gangori-Badethi-Tekhla bridge here today. The bridge was constructed by the Border Road Organisation (BRO) with the funds provided under Varunavat Parvat treatment plant a couple of decades ago. Sajwan commended the efforts of the BRO for constructing the bridge, which was a long-standing demand of the residents. Employees of the BRO had withstood extreme cold and rainy conditions to complete the bridge. The workers and officials would be felicitated for their contribution on the Republic Day function, he said. Sajwan directed BRO Commander Subash Chandra Lunia to construct mobile toilets for BRO labourers in the district.—TNS
