Nick Cave Preps ‘One More Time With Feeling’ DVD Release
One More Time With Feeling, a film that documents both the recording of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds’ Skeleton Tree and the singer’s grief following the tragic death of his son Arthur, will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on March 3rd.
The documentary was initially screened during a small theatrical run when Skeleton Tree arrived in September; a larger second run of One More Time With Feeling hits cinemas this month.
One More Time With Feeling will be released in a variety of formats, including DVD, 2D Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray, since director Andrew Dominik filmed the documentary using that format.
“The record’s got a sparseness to it. It’s very spatial in the ways the sounds are organized, very stripped back. Basically, 3D’s really interesting because it’s involving but not emotionally involving,” Dominik recently told Rolling Stone.
“It puts you in the moment, but at the same time the black & white creates an aesthetic distance. I wanted to make something that gave you new eyes; it’s a brand new world for them. I knew this film would be like a poem or collection of moments that don’t necessarily have a narrative momentum, and I wanted to create a mental space where those things could wash over an audience as opposed to annoying them.”
In addition to One More Time With Feeling, the home release includes three exclusive Dominik-directed short films: Boredom, Do You Pray? and Snowman. Visit the Nick Cave online store to preorder the film ahead of its March 3rd release.
