As much as many people continue to speculate about whether Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather are actually going to fight, Las Vegas has decided to chime in.
After news broke on Wednesday that McGregor had been issued a boxing license in California, Bovada released what the odds would look like if the two stepped into a boxing ring.
"This fight is a long shot to happen, in my opinion, and McGregor is a bigger long shot if it does happen," said Bovada sportsbook manager Kevin Bradley per OddsShark.com. "Floyd has never really been hit his entire career against the baddest professional boxers in the world, so Conor will have to shock the world to even lay some leather on Mayweather.
"Our -2250 line on this speculative fight reflects those facts."
McGregor would lay at +950.
In every fight McGregor has had in UFC, the Irishman has been the betting favorite, which comes as no surprise. McGregor has never been knocked out in his UFC career with the lone loss coming via submission against Nate Diaz in March.
However, Mayweather has been just as dominant, posting a 49-0 record in his professional boxing career.
One thing is for certain, these talks are not going away anytime soon.
