PM Narendra Modi considers himself a ‘Sultan’ and others his ‘ghulam’, says AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi

Amid heated political storm following the implementation of the demonetisation policy by the Modi government, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president, Asaduddin Owaisi, today slammed the Prime Minister and the central government claiming that the note-ban policy will prove to be a failure in the country. The AIMM president claimed that Narendra Modi considers himself a ‘Sultan’ (King) and everyone else his ‘ghulams’ (followers).

Urging the Narendra Modi led central government to debate on the issue with votings on the need of demonetisation, Owaisi said that PM Modi won’t do so as he does not want to hear dissenting voices. Stating that BJP can’t tolerate voices being raised against them, Owisi claimed that the ruling party considers their rule a ‘Sultanat’ in Delhi and stated this attitude by the ruling government as ‘arrogant’.

Speaking at the ‘Shikhar Sammelan’ of the ABP News, over the ban on currency notes, initiated by PM Modi on November 8, Owaisi questioned the government on under which law they can hold one’s personal earnings. Citing the increase in the flow of black money in the country, the Modi government had implemented the demonetisation policy following which currency notes of denomination Rs 500 and Rs 1.000 had been banned and there had also been a limit in the amount permitted to be withdrawn from banks and ATMs.

On the Supreme Court’s order mandating national anthem at movie theatres, Owaisi said that his party accepts the apex court directives but also believes that such orders won’t anyway boost patriotism or nationalism.

Over questions on triple talaq, Owaisi didn’t comment much, however, mentioned that ‘talak’ is not considered as a noble act in the Muslim religion. He had also mentioned about other wrong matrimonial practices performed by Hindus and other religions, providing data to prove his point. The AIMIM president also mocked the Prime Minister for focusing on the issues relating Muslim women after two and a half year of rule.
