President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Speaker Onsari Gharti held a meeting at the President Office, Sheetal Niwas on Friday.

In the meeting, Speaker Gharti apprised the President about the latest activities taking place in the Legislature-Parliament and her visit to Russia from November 20-26. 

Speaker Gharti also apprised President Bhandari about the separate discussions she held with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', leader of the main opposition party KP Oli among other leaders to end the situation of conflict seen in the Parliament among the political parties of late, the Speaker's press advisor Babin Sharma said. 

The Speaker stated during the meeting that the party leaders have expressed their commitment to move ahead in consensus and that she was always ready to build the environment conducive for consensus if need be. 

President Bhandari on the occasion urged Speaker Gharti to carry ahead parliamentary activities playing the role of a coordinator to facilitate consensus by removing the differences among the parties. RSS
