After being appointed as the Delhi unit chief of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), actor-singer turned politician Manoj Tiwari, slammed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for his protest against the demonetisation policy implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On his first day at the office, as the chief of the party unit in the national capital, Tiwari urged Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders to make their bank statement public.
Ahead of the municipal polls, in an interview to The Indian Express, the newly appointed BJP chief spoke about the possible challenges he would be facing as the party’s unit head at the national capital.
Over Aam Aadmi Party being the prime competitor for the BJP in the upcoming municipal elections, Manoj Tiwari said that their party doesn’t ignore the fact that they lost to AAP 67 out of 70 in the last assembly elections, but also claimed that the graph of the Kejriwal-led party has also come down. Stating that, by the implementation of the demonetisation policy, BJP had taken a strong step against corruption, Tiwari claimed that in the upcoming elections, people will vote on the new anti-graft policy, making it favorable for BJP’s win in the national capital.
Citing that in the 2014 assembly election Arvind Kejriwal came up with issues like corruption, Tiwari claimed that now the Delhi CM is coming out in support of the same and the BJP will win the upcoming poll because of their fight against blackmoney and corruption.
Manoj Tiwari also supported the Supreme Court’s directive making national anthem compulsory in movie theaters. The BJP Delhi unit chief claimed that the Bharatiya Janat Party lacks weakness and he’s unsure on why media-persons asks the question to him or other party leaders.
