To woo the customers amidst government push for cashless economy, Bharti Airtel arm Airtel Payments Bank said that customers opening savings accounts with it will get one minute of talk time on their Airtel mobile number for every rupee deposited.

To woo the customers amidst government push for cashless economy, Bharti Airtel arm Airtel Payments Bank said that customers opening savings accounts with it will get one minute of talk time on their Airtel mobile number for every rupee deposited. If a customer opens an account with a deposit of Rs 500 then he/she will get 500 minutes of free talk time on his/her Airtel mobile number.

The talk time can be used for Airtel to Airtel calling all over India for 30 days. This benefit will be applicable on first time deposits only. A customer can deposit maximum Rs. 1 lakh in the payment bank account as per the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) guidelines.

Currently, Airtel Payments Bank is rolling out pilot services in Rajasthan with the objective of testing its systems and processes ahead of full scale pan-India launch.

The pilot will commence with banking points at 10,000 Airtel retail outlets across Rajasthan. Airtel Payments Bank plans to expand its merchant network in Rajasthan to 100,000 by the end of the year.
