RAF Waddington amputee Spitfire pilot flies solo
An RAF technician has become the first amputee to fly a Spitfire solo since 1946.
Sgt Alan Robinson, from RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire, lost a leg in a motorcycle accident five years ago.
Sgt Robinson had only limited flying experience when he took part in a scheme backed by Prince Harry for wounded service personnel.
He said he was inspired by the example of legendary World War II fighter pilot Douglas Bader.
