BHOPAL: A 20-year-old second year student of an engineering college committed suicide by hanging himself on Thursday afternoon. What prompted him to take the extreme step remains unclear. Police ruled out recovering any suicide note from the spot. A case was registered at Jehangirabad police station.
The youth, Ashish Sharma, was a resident of PWD quarters behind Satpura Bhawan. His parents are government workers. When he hanged himself, there was no one in the home.
The incident came to light when his mother came home for lunch. When he did not open the door for long, she peeped through a window to find him hanging. She raised an alarm after which neighbours went inside the home, police added.
The deceased was youngest child of his parents. He has two elder sisters. Of them, one got married in Barkhedi area in the city.
