On Thursday, Akshay provided financial assistance of Rs 9 lakh to the family of Prabhu Singh, a resident of Shergarh, Jodhpur, who was killed and beheaded brutally at the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir.
The star spoke to Prabhu’s family members, especially the martyr's father Chandra Singh, for 10 minutes over the phone.

The martyr’s father told Akshay that he would use the money for the education of Prabhu’s daughter.
“We will educate his 10 month-old daughter. If aftereducation, she wants to join the Army, we will let her go,” Chandra said.
Akshay also personally extended his condolences, and said Prabhu’s sacrifice would always be remembered by the entire country.
He also announced that he would take the three jawans, injured in Pakistani fire in Jammu sector on Wednesday, to Mumbai for treatment.
The star has come to the border many times to encourage and boost the morale of jawans. He has also started the initiative of extending financial help to the families of martyrs.

Jaisalmer sector north DIG Amit Lodha said that Akshay’s father was in the army and he knew the hardships faced by security forces.
The Rs 9 lakh assistance to the martyr’s family is the second such humanitarian gesture made by star in a week.
Lodha said he had spoken to Akshay informally about helping the families of martyrs economically.
So far, Akshay has helped six to seven families of martyrs. Recently, he gave Rs 9 lakh to BSF jawan Gurunam, and last Friday, he provided a similar amount to family members of Narpat, a resident of Laungasar, Jaisalmer, through RTGS.
Lodha appealed to all to come forward and help the families of martyrs.
He said the three jawans, injured on Wednesday, were constable Mukesh, who lost an eye, three fingers of his left hand and the right arm below the elbow. Another constable, Bivash, lost his left eye and has splinter injuries on the neck and chin. These jawans, from 62 BN BSF, were deployed in the Jammu sector.
Meanwhile, the martyr’s family expressed their anger against the state government which has not announced any financial assistance till now.
