Man held with Rs 20 lakh cash near Bhavnagar

RAJKOT: Police found Rs 20 lakh, all in the invalid Rs 1,000 notes, from the car of a Palitana resident, who was caught in an inebriated condition late on Wednesday night.
During patrolling, police stopped Babusinh Parmar for checking near Rangoli Chowkdi near Bhavnagar. On checking, they found the cash.
“He was in a drunken state. He claimed that that money belonged to his sister but his behaviour was suspicious.We have informed the income tax department, which is investigating the source of the cash,” said J V Gohil, investigating officer, Vartej Police station. Parmar is engaged in the construction business at Palitana town.
