MYSURU: DC D Randeep on Thursday inspected Dalvoy Lake on Mysuru-Nanjangud Road to take up measures for its revival.
The DC was accompanied by the representatives of Insatiable Clean Tech Pvt Ltd, a Bengaluru-based company which has proposed to develop the lake. The company’s vice-president Pavan Kumar collected details regarding the lake from MCC officials.
MCC deputy commissioner (development) B K Suresh Babu explained that the civic body has taken up the works on desilting and fencing six years ago under the chief minister’s fund.
“But for the past few years, sewage water from JP Nagar and Ramabai Nagar was released to the lake, leading to water contamination. There are no legal disputes involving the lake,” he said.
Kumar said that the lake will be cleaned as pert international standards. Meanwhile, Randeep has directed MCC authorities to furnish a survey report to identify the localities from where the sewage is released directly to lake.
“Lakes in Mysuru are being developed under CSR activities by private organizations. While Infosys is developing Hebbal Lake, Bommenahalli Lake is being revived by RBI. Representatives of Insatiable Clean Tech have come forward to develop Dalvoy Lake. We are yet to finalize on whether the lake should be developed under PPP model or using the government funds. We will soon take a final call on this,” he said.
MCC commissioner G Jagadeesha, mayor B L Bhyrappa and others were present.
