Naroda Gam Riots: Further statement of 7 accused to begin on Dec 5

There are 82 accused in the case, including former BJP minister Maya Kodnani, Bajrang Dal leader Babubhai Patel alias Babu Bajrangi.

The Special Designated court hearing the Naroda Gam massacre of 2002 post-Godhra riots on Thursday ordered seven accused to remain present before it for recording their further statements. From Monday onwards accused will be recording their further statements one by one.

There are 82 accused in the case, including former BJP minister Maya Kodnani, Bajrang Dal leader Babubhai Patel alias Babu Bajrangi. Kodnani and Bajrangi have been convicted in Naroda Patiya massacre case in 2012 for life imprisonment.

On Thursday, the special judge P B Desai ordered seven accused (of 82) to remain present before it on Monday. These accused include Samir Patel, Kushal Solanki, Dinesh Hukaji Thakore, Baldevbhai Thakore, Chandu Thakore, Ajay Dhobi among others. One by one, all the 82 accused will be summoned in the court for recording their further statement during which the charges recorded against them will be explained by the court and their defence will be recorded.
