But that’s what cricket young gun Amanda-Jade Wellington did in Australia’s fourth match against South Africa.

And it’s earned her our Swoop Play of the Week.

Wellington (1-35) remarkably took a wicket with her first ever ball for Australia.

Inspired by Shane Warne, the 19-year-old was bought into the team to cover an injury and made the most of her opportunity by claiming the scalp of former Proteas skipper South Africa’s highest leading runscorer Mignon du Preez.

The Southern Stars played out a draw against South Africa in the fourth One-Day International at Coffs Harbour.

In a thrilling finish the visitors needed eight runs to win off the final over but fell one run short after Masabata Klaas (6) was run out on the last ball of the match.
