Kuwait delegation to OICC conf. meet Rabat mayor

RABAT, Dec 1 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti delegation to the 14th congress of the Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities (OICC) met on Thursday with mayor of Rabat Mohammad Al-Sadiki.
Al-Sadiki welcomed the delegation, led by Deputy Director General of the Kuwait Municipality Eng. Waleed Khalifa Al-Jassem, and spoke highly of Kuwait contributions to cooperation among the Islamic cities.
He briefed the delegation on the resources and experiences of Rabat Municipality in running the municipal affairs and realizing the targets of OICC relating to sustainable development.
He expressed desire to promote cooperation with Kuwait Municipality with a view to upgrading the services offered to citizens of the two sisterly countries.
On his part, Al-Jassem thanked Al-Sadiki on the hospitality offered to the delegates to the OICC congress, and praised Morocco's experience in preserving its Islamic identity, architecture and cultural heritage.
The Kuwaiti side granted the shield of Kuwait Municipality to Al-Sadiki who, in return, granted them a shield and books on the heritage of Rabat as a token of friendship. The three-day OICC congress opened yesterday with representatives of 50 Islamic capital cities taking part. (end) mry.gb
