MLA hits out at admin boss again
GURUGRAM: Even as the MCG is continuing its crackdown on illegal structures, Gurgaon MLA Umesh Aggarwal on Thursday alleged that deputy commissioner TL Satyaprakash — who is also the MCG commissioner — was “targeting only small fish instead of going after the big ones”.
He said the deputy commissioner was not taking any steps against illegal structures in areas like Nobel Farm and Satguru Farm owned by “influential people”.
Meanwhile, MCG on Thursday sealed 103 flats in Zone-II.
The MLA had launched an attack on the deputy commissioner, alleging he was not taking any action against illegal structures in the city.
“The deputy commissioner is only targeting people who have built their houses on small plots, whereas the real defaulters in areas like Nobel Farm and Satguru Farm have not been touched. Nobel Farm and Satguru Farm have larger plots, and therefore bigger structures have been built without permission,” MLA said.
“There have been complaints against big private players, but the deputy commissioner has not taken any action against them. Instead, he is quick to take action against the poor, small owners,” he said.
Satyaprakash, when contacted by TOI, refused to comment. An MCG official said no partiality is being shown. “We will take action against everyone who has carried out illegal construction even though they are high and mighty. We will seal such illegal buildings and if need be we will also raze them,” said a MCG official.
