More than 100 liquor barrels seized in factory run by two Nepali expats

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 1: A wanted Nepali expatriate was arrested from an apartment in Sabah Al-Ahmad area which was being used for manufacturing liquor. Another Nepali expatriate was also arrested from the apartment in possession of 141 barrels of liquor.

According to security sources, Ahmadi securitymen were patrolling Sabah Al-Ahmad area based on instructions from Ahmadi Security Director Brigadier Abdullah Safa when they suspected a man walking in the area, stopped him and asked him for his civil ID. When he started running, securitymen followed him and saw him enter a house. They went inside the house to discover it was being used for manufacturing liquor.

They immediately requested for backup officers as well as a warrant from the Public Prosecution to raid the house. They checked the details of the suspect to discover he is a Nepali expatriate who is wanted by the Residency Affairs Department.

After obtaining the warrant, securitymen raided the house and confiscated 141 barrels of liquor, a sum of KD 201 and equipment used for manufacturing liquor.

Another Nepali expatriate who was in the apartment was also arrested. When questioned, both suspects confessed to manufacturing liquor and selling it to their clients. They were referred with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.
