The Chainsmokers Notch Career-Best 15th Week Atop Hot Dance/Electronic Songs With ‘Closer’

The smash passes the 14-week reign of "Roses." Plus, new No. 1s for Justice, Martin Garrix & Bebe Rexha, while Clean Bandit adds a top 10.

The Chainsmokers lead Billboard‘s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart (dated Dec. 10) for a 15th week with “Closer” (featuring Halsey), which becomes the act’s longest-leading No. 1 on the ranking. The song eclipses the 14-week command of “Roses” (featuring Rozes) earlier in 2016.

The duo’s Daya-assisted “Don’t Let Me Down” followed “Roses” with a 12-week reign; of the 50 Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart weeks so far in 2016, The Chainsmokers have spent 41 of them at No. 1.

Since the chart’s Jan. 26, 2013, inception, only two tracks have led longer than “Closer”: Avicii’s “Wake Me Up!” (26 weeks, 2013-14) and Major Lazer and DJ Snake’s “Lean On” (featuring MO) (23 weeks, 2015-16).
