2-day conference on GST starts tomorrow

Mangaluru branch of Southern India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is organizing Parva – Dawn of new taxation era, a two-day national conference on GST at Sri T V Raman Pai Convention Centre here from Friday.

MANGALURU: Mangaluru branch of Southern India Regional Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is organizing Parva – Dawn of new taxation era, a two-day national conference on GST at Sri T V Raman Pai Convention Centre here from Friday.
Keshava Ballakuraya, chairman, Mangaluru branch of SIRC of ICAI told reporters on Wednesday that the role of chartered accountants (CA) is significant in post GST era.

Business community and industrialists largely depend on CAs and it is their duty to give proper guidance to them. Renowned speakers from across India will be the resource persons, he said, adding the conference is organized under the aegis of indirect taxes committee of the ICAI, New Delhi.
A K Sahoo, director (finance), MRPL will inaugurate the conference. M Subramanyam, commissioner, central excise and service tax will be the guest of honour. Madhukar Hiregange, chairman, indirect taxes committee, ICAI will preside over the inaugural function.
Around 400 chartered accountants from all over India, 200 students and businessmen, accountants will take part in this conference.
