Champions Nico Rosberg and Mercedes will be without a home Grand Prix in the 2017 Formula 1 World Championship after the German Grand Prix has been officially dropped from the calendar.

The 20-race schedule will see Rosberg start his title defense at the traditional season opener in Melbourne, Australia, on March 26.

Other than the loss of the German Grand Prix, the schedule remains largely unchanged from earlier versions of the schedule, although there is still an asterisk over the Brazilian Grand Prix as organizers struggle to finance the race.

Formula 1 will return to the U.S. on Oct. 22 for round 18 of the championship, the sixth Grand Prix to run on the Circuit of the Americas, before the season closes with the day-night Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Nov. 26.
