After a tiff with mom, man kills passerby

INDORE: In a fit of anger, a 21-year-old youth allegedly murdered a man who was walking past his house in Bhil Colony of Azad Nagar here late on Tuesday. The accused, identified as Vinay, committed the crime after a fight with his mother. He was arrested on Wednesday.
The youth allegedly attacked the man in his private parts, stabbed him repeatedly and fled leaving the victim to bleed profusely.There was no connection between the attacker and victim.
The incident took place around 11:30 pm when the victim, identified as Devi Singh, was on his way to meet a friend with Jagdeesh, his brother-in-law.
Jagdeesh had come from Harda to meet the family members and both of them left the house after dinner and were going to meet Devi’s friend when the accused attacked him.
Azad Nagar police said locals and the mother of the accused claimed her Vinay had come home late on Wednesday and was drunk. She was very angry and started shouting at him. Both of them got into a scuffle and the youth tried to hang himself from the ceiling fan with a stole.Neighbours and family members somehow tried to stop the youth from committing suicide.
As soon as he was left alone, he ran outside the house and stabbed Devi.
Jagdeesh and some other people rushed Devi Singh to MY hospital but he succumbed to his injuries.
“His body was handed over to members of his family after post-mortem examination and a case was registered against the accused. He was arrested on Wednesday,” said KL Dangee, Azad Nagar police station in-charge while speaking to media persons.
The deceased is survived by four daughters and a wife and was the sole bread winner of the family. The family immediately left for Harda for Devi’s final rites.
His body was handed over to his family after autopsy and a case was filed against the accused. Accused was arrested on Wednesday.
