SP Tahir Noorani 'extorts' Rs 20,000/week from Karachi police stations
Noorani commands Ferozabad, Jamshed Quarters, New Town, Brigade and Mehmoodabad police stations
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Superintendent of Police (SP) of Jamshed Town is revealed on Thursday to be extorting around Rs 20,000 per week from different police stations that fall in his command.
Police have been alleged several times earlier of extorting money from drug rings and betting joints among local traders but today it was reported that a senior SP of Sindh Police, Tahir Noorani was also involved in the crime as well.
Noorani commands Ferozabad, Jamshed Quarters, New Town, Brigade and Mehmoodabad police stations.
A Station House Officer (SHO) had complained to higher-ups against him but no action was taken against the alleged culprit.
The officer is also accused by many locals to have extorted money from them through illegal motorcycle lifting.
