Another new week, another new Google Play Store feature update to report. To further expand the user experience of one of the most necessary apps on an Android device, Google has been introducing numerous test features for a handful of users to try and share their opinion on.

The tech behemoth has already started rolling out certain thematic changes to the Play Store. This change switches out the current light green color in favor of a richer and darker new ‘bottle-green’ color. It has also started introducing server-side changes to the list view and app cards but the same have still not made their way to my Play Store app. The scattered bottle green color, on the other hand, looks quite out of place for me.

Today, however, we have spotted yet another test feature which has made its way to the Play Store. But we cannot confirm if this is a test or another update as it is rolling out alongside other server-side changes. This was first spotted by a Google+ user, who posted a video clip of the same. This feature is quite intriguing and impressive as it brings big horizontally swipeable cards in the search results.

To experience this, you’ll first need to search for any particular application. Once you see the search results, just tap on the one you searched for and you will be greeted with a big app card. You can directly hit install from the same to begin downloading the app. But if you wanna know more then you’ll need to scroll upwards on this card. This will give you access to the familiar space where info regarding an app is displayed.

Now, swiping down on the card again shrinks it back in place alongside other big cards in search results. You can swipe left and right to discover similar or relevant apps based on your search query. This is an intuitive take towards an improvement in discovery and user experience.

Over the past weeks, Google has also debuted numerous test features which either bring changes to the theme, app cards, payment options or the overall rating system – not only for apps but also for games. Most of the test features have been a welcome change for users on the platform.
