JAIPUR: The cash crunch claimed another life in Rajasthan on Wednesday morning. An 80-year-old man died outside a public sector bank in Rajgarh area of Churu district.
According to Rajgarh police station in-charge AK Vishnoi, the deceased has been identified as Singharam Singh Poonia. “Poonia had stepped out of the bank after withdrawing some cash when he collapsed all of a sudden,” he added.
The bank guards and employees immediately called an ambulance and local police.

“We cannot confirm the exact cause of his death. He had already made the withdrawal and was walking out of the bank when the incident took place. The family members refused permission for post mortem,” Vishnoi told TOI.
According to cops, Poonia might have died of sudden heart attack or heat stroke. The cops also said that the queue outside the bank was small and there were only a few people.
“The body has been handed over to the family. We will speak to doctors about the cause of death. Poonia had died by the time he was taken to hospital,” the cops said.
The deceased was a resident of a tehsil near Churu and had come to Rajgarh to withdraw money.
He was breathing heavily before he collapsed. On November 28, army veteran Prahalad Singh (70) had died in a similar manner while waiting for his turn in a queue in Ladnu city of Nagaur district.
