ALWAR: Family members of 26-year-old Raghvendra Singh, who died fighting terrorists in Tuesday's terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir, say they are now more determined to raise his five-year-old son “to serve the Indian Army“.
A large number of people gathered at the Ghadi Jaffar village, the martyr's native village, Dholpur, on Wednesday . They were waiting for his body which is expected to reach the village on Thursday .
“My son is five-month-old and I will raise him to serve the nation by joining the Army .
If ever I get a chance, I am also ready to serve the nation,“ said 24-year-old Anju Sikarwar, wife of Raghvendra. Although she fainted when she heard about her husband's death, she now looks unnerved.
“If I am not able to join the Army I will serve the country with the tool of education and take up a teaching job,“ she said.
She is pursuing her B.Ed from a private college in Madhya Pradesh. “Akhir Pa kistan kitney beton ki shahdat lega,“ she said.
Other members of the martyr's family recalled that they had got a phone call from him 10 hours before the tragedy struck. “He had called up his mother Indira Devi and had asked her to look after herself well. He had promised to return soon,“ recalled Ramgopal Parihar, father of the martyr.
