KARACHI: Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) officials raided Korangi area of Karachi and arrested a target killer on Tuesday. CTD Civil Lines in a raid in Korangi arrested Asif alias Halaku with arms in his possession, CTD sources told Daily Times, adding that the alleged target killer is presently said to be affiliated with Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP). Since, September 2013, when the paramilitary force, the Sindh Rangers has started Karachi operation it has arrested large number of the criminals, target killers and those involved in the extortion. Beside Rangers, the Sindh police and Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has also arrested large number of the criminals. Accused Halaku had joined MQM in 2008 and became a member of the gang of killers headed by Junaid alias Bulldog in 2010, sources said. The accused killed a worker of MQM-Haqeeqi (Amir group) and a councilor Patras alias Bhutto in Zaman Town. In 2011 he killed Shafiq Sattiwala, Waqar aka Wiki and two workers of Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party, police sources said. The accused is also said to be involved in the murder of JUI worker Asghar Noorani.. After the beginning of Karachi Operation the accused fled to Punjab and was hiding in Sadiqabad district. He had later joined Mustafa Kamal led PSP, the sources added.
