Shafi, Biju Menon to team up for a comedy
Biju Menon's career got a much-needed boost with his role in Shafi's Marykkondoru Kunjaadu, and now the duo is all set to team up again for another entertainer.
The director tells us that he has zeroed in on a script by Sachy as his next after Two Countries. 'The script is based on Najim Koya's story and we have roped in Biju Menon to play the lead. The film has got a lot of humour, but it's very different from the movies I have done till date.
That's one reason why I picked this movie,' says Shafi. 'Also, his character would appeal to the family audience.'
On Biju Menon's character, he says, 'The character has his own unique quirks so revealing anything about it right now would take the sheen off. We are yet to finalise the rest of the cast.' Shafi, meanwhile, was rumoured to do a Mammootty project next. However, he tells us, 'The film with Mammukka is still on but it will only happen after this movie. We are planning to start shoot by April next year.'
The upcoming project would mark the third time Shafi is teaming up with Sachy after Chocolate and Makeup Man. Sachy is scripting for a host of projects including films with Dileep and Prithviraj that will be directed by Arun Gopy and Lal, respectively.
Meanwhile, Biju Menon is currently busy finishing up his portions for Ranjan Pramod's movie Rakshadikari Baiju and will next join the sets of Anzar Khan's Lakshyam, in which he will be seen as a convict along with Indrajith.
