Chiefs get Jeremy Maclin and Dee Ford back on practice field

The Chiefs are coming off an emotional win, and got a lift Wednesday when they returned to the practice field.

Via Terez Paylor of the Kansas City Star, Chiefs wide receiver Jeremy Maclin, outside linebacker Dee Ford and cornerback Steve Nelson were back on the field today.

Maclin’s missed the last three games after a Week Nine groin injury.

They’ve managed to compensate for the lack of their best wide receiver by funneling the ball to tight end Travis Kelce and rookie Tyreek Hill more often, but getting Maclin back will clearly help an offense that can go long stretches without doing much.

Ford missed last week’s game against the Broncos with a hamstring injury. While they were able to get by thanks to some guy named Justin Houston coming back with three sacks, Ford had 10.0 of them in the first 10 games, and was tied for the league lead at the time of his injury.
