MYLA PABLO signed a five-year contract extension with Pocari Sweat, proof that the former National University star has earned her niche atop the Philippine volleyball totem pole.
A silent operator as a Lady Bulldogs, Pablo has proven her worth in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines and now in the Shakey’s V-League.
Pablo’s deal with the team included a brand-new car and a bonus for her strong performance in the Open Conference, where she emerged Finals Most Valuable Player.
“I’m so happy because the team trusts me so much,” Pablo said. “Since my first game, the franchise already gave its full trust and that inspires me each game.”
The 23-year-old open spiker vowed to give more to her team.
“With two championships, we need to remain hungry for more. We need to keep on striving and improving every day,” said Pablo, who donned the national colors in the 2015 Asian Volleyball Confederation Under 23 and Seniors tournaments.
Team Manager Atty. Eric Ty, Pocari Sweat President Sinichi Suzuki and Federated Distributor Inc. Executive Director Ronald Tieng graced Pablo’s contract-signing ceremony on Tuesday.
