Bala project to attract and retain students in civic schools

Bala project to attract and retain students in civic schools
Ramanata Crisna Pai Raikar Education Society today announced commissioning of the agriculture and allied services school at village Sanvoiverem, 35km from here.
NASHIK: In an attempt to attract students and consequently prevent drop-outs, Nashik Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) education department is planning to introduce Project Bala from next month.
Under this scheme, the education department will be making the best use of waste material. Educative and informative texts will be written on the waste material that will be painted attractively.

After an attempt to detect out-of-school children (drop-outs or children who never went to school) through a mobile App with the help of NGOs and admitting some of these children in schools, the education department is attempting to retain them in the schools.
“We have already spoken to some garage owners and scrap dealers to donate the waste material to us. The headmasters and headmistresses have been informed about it and the waste material like tyres will be painted in the schools. Teachers will write on the tyres from the academic curriculum. It will be like ‘learn with fun’ kind of thing. It will make the school look attractive as well with bright coloured material,” said administrative officer of NMC’s education department, Nitin Upasani.
He said that they named the project as Bala, because it was for children, and it will help in retaining students in the school till they complete their school education.
