‘Govt not interested to implement CHT peace accord’
The government is not interested to implement the Chittagong Hill Tract peace accord, Parbatya Chattagram Janasanghati Samity (PCJSS) President Jyotirindra Bodhipriya Larma claimed today.
It is dilly-dallying in the full implementation of the CHT peace deal signed between the government and the indigenous people in 1997, Bodhipriya Larma, also known as Santu Larma, said at a press conference marking the 19th anniversary of the agreement.
“Out of total 72 sections of the CHT accord, the government claims that it has implemented 48 where as the real figure is 25,” he said adding “And it proves that the government is not interested to fulfill the agreement”.
If it is not implemented, the Jumma people will be compelled to find an alternative way to keep their existence, he warned the government.
The organisation will continue non-cooperation movement based on their 10-point programme declared in 2014.
