AITUC: Paisa hamara aur malik PM Modi?
PM Narendra Modi.
PATNA: Over 300 delegates from across the country participated in the general assembly meeting of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) here on Tuesday and voiced their concern over demonetisation, disinvestment, unemployment and price rise of essential commodities. They said the Centre’s decision to demonetise high value currency and subsequent cash crunch in the market has claimed over 70 lives in the country.

AITUC general secretary CP Singh said, “Paisa hamara aur malik Modi. The draconian law imposed by PM Narendra Modi has claimed the lives of innocent citizens who had gone to the banks and ATMs to withdraw their own money. Moreover, there was no plan in place to execute the demonetisation plan. Homemakers, senior citizens, executives and daily wagers have to spend half their time in withdrawing money from the ATMs.”
He said even after spending considerable time in long queues, people don’t get money as the ATM runs out of cash. “The corrupt invest their money in stocks, properties and in private companies and the demonetisation will not affect them,” Singh added.
Ramakant Akela, AITUC (Patna chapter) vice-president, said the tall claims of Modi government to check corruption and black money has fallen flat on his face after half of his tenure. “There has been rise in essential items’ prices, which is affecting every citizen. Unemployment in the country is on the rise,” said Akela.
He further said AITUC will oppose the Centre’s move to disinvest public sector undertakings as it is against the country’s interest.
