Nagpur Municipal Corporation yet to terminate Vansh Nimay Infra Projects Private Ltd operations

NAGPUR: Even as the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is set to introduce three red and one green bus operator from December 5, it has not issued a termination notice to the existing Starbus operator Vansh Nimay Infra Projects Private Ltd (VNIL). As a result, Nagpur will have five bus operators.
A senior officer from NMC’s transport department said, “The decision on termination will be taken later.”
Sources say that the NMC is wary about the efficiency of the new operators and does not want to take any chances.The 10-year agreement with VNIL ends on February 8 next year.
A VNIL official said that it will “continue to operate the service till the time of our second agreement which ends in 2020”. The operator has issued a circular to its 2,000-odd employees not to panic over discontinuation of service.
