Fokker extends composite panels contract with Airborne

The extension of contract is a confirmation of Airborne's position as a valued composite parts supplier to Fokker, Airborne said in a statement.

Airborne's successful endeavour to continuously improve its way of working has enabled them to introduce cost cutting initiatives. To accelerate this, Airborne is intensifying its efforts to materialise its composite automation proposition and to make separate units ready for market in the near future.

In order to allow composites to break through into a broader range of applications, Airborne is convinced that automation is necessary for affordability. As airlines are usually engaged in heavy competition for lower airfare rates, aerospace manufacturing supply chain like Airborne is also focusing on developing affordable composite parts.

Airborne envisages the future where the composites industry has grown and matured, offering its products and services to a greater amount or markets and applications. (RR)
