New Delhi: Noel Naval Tata, the half brother of Ratan Tata is among the frontrunners for top job at Tata Sons after the ouster of Cyrus Mistry, as per a report in the Economic Times.

Mistry was replaced by Ratan Tata, who will be the interim chairman for four months.

Noel Tata, the Managing Director of Tata International, has been a contender for Tata Son's Chairman for quite some time, but reportedly due to his frosty relationship with Ratan Tata perhaps could have put an impediment, ET said.

The board has named a five-member search committee, which includes Tata, to choose a successor to Mistry within four months.

The board has constituted a selection committee comprising Tata, TVS Group head Venu Srinivasan, Amit Chandra of Bain Capital, former diplomat Ronen Sen and Lord Kumar Bhattacharya. All of them, except Bhattacharya, are on the board of Tata Sons.

However, Industry Tycoons like Indra Nooyi of Pepsi, Arun Sarin, former Vodafone CEO, N Chandrasekaran, TCS CEO, Ishaat Hussain and B. Muthuraman –both from Tata Group are among the top contenders for Tata group’s new chairman.
