Major water cuts in Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad tomorrow

PUNE: Taps will run dry across Pune on Thursday to facilitate maintenance works at all water works and pumping stations. Water supply to all the affected areas will resume on Friday with low pressure, a press release issued by the Pune Municipal Corporation said.
“Civil works as well as repairs pertaining to electrical works are to be carried out. Therefore, there will be no water supply,” the release added.
Similarly, there will be no water supply in Pimpri Chinchwad areas on Thursday evening on account of urgent repairs to be carried out at the water treatment filter plants at sector number 23 in Nigdi. Water supply will resume at low pressure on Friday morning, a press release issued by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation on Tuesday said. The PCMC has appealed to residents to store water and use the same sparingly.
All areas receiving water from Warje/SNDT water works; Wadgaon water works; Parvati water works and Cantonment water works will be affected due to the restriction.
