One of the most talked about and beloved couples of Bollywood is coming to an end: Malaika Arora Khan and Arbaaz Khan, no more.

After being married for 17 years, the couple moved the family court in Bandra, Mumbai on Tuesday. Based on mutual consent, both Malaika and Arbaaz have filed for dissolution of their marriage. The two was allotted Court No 1 for the case proceedings to be presided by Principal Judge IJ Nanda.

Malaika and Arbaaz got married in 1997 and together, they have a 14-year-old son Arhaan. The celebrities, both dressed in white, came together for their their first marriage counselling session yesterday. However, they left the court premises in a hurry. According to the law, after a divorce petition has been filled, a couple is granted a period of six months to think about reconciliation. If there are no signs of getting back together, the court dissolves the marriage.

Malaika-Arbaaz announced their separation in March, earlier this year, and soon the Chaiya Chaiya girl moved out of the Khan residence into an apartment along with her son.

According to many reports, it is being said that trouble began brewing in Malika-Arbaaz's marriage when Malaika supposedly began an affair with Arjun Kapoor. But sources have told India Today that Malaika wanted her husband Arbaaz to come out of his elder brother Salman Khan's shadow. Even Salman spoke to the couple several times to work things but all the effort was in vain.
