25-year-old man in police net for killing parents sister

VELLORE: A day after a Tangedco employee, his wife and daughter were found dead with their throats slit in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu, his 25-year-old son admitted to murdering the trio to the police, as they had opposed his love affair with a dalit woman.
Police said Tamilarasan of Kakankarai village near Kandhili was in love with a dalit woman who was his colleague.
Tamilarasan's sister Suga nya came to know about this and informed their parents.Since then, Tamilarasan had a strained relationship with others in the family.
Tamilarasan had borrowed around ` 2 lakh from his father, Mohan, and spent the money lavishly. “Learning about this, Mohan's parents shouted at him. They asked him to return the money. Mohan had threatened that he would make Sunga nya the legal heir for all his property if he dared to marry the dalit woman,“ said a police source.
Angered over this, Tamilarasan decided to eliminate his parents and sister. He first murdered his sister and later his mother, Rajeswari, by slitting their throats.
He disfigured his sister's face by hitting her with a stone.He had sat next to the lifeless bodies of his mother and sister for over two hours till his father reached home around 6.20am after night duty.
Tamilarasan attacked his father with a kitchen knife and slit his throat too. Tamilarasan sustained injuries when Mohan fought with his son for his life.Tamilarasan is undergoing treatment at a hospital.
“It is a planned murder,“ police said.
A senior police officer told TOI that Tamilarasan had admitted to murdering his family members. However, the youth had made contradictory statements. “All the evidence point towards Tamilarasan's role in the murders of his family members,“ said the police officer.
“We will ascertain the motive for the murders after arresting him and questioning him,“ the police officer added.
