Former vice principal gets 6 months for rape at high school

A former Williamsburg high-school vice principal found guilty of raping a just-graduated student was sentenced to only six months in prison Tuesday before being released on bail, pending his appeal.

William Abreu, who faced up to four years in prison for the 2009 attack at Williamsburg’s Progress HS, won’t even have to register as a sex offender for now — because it’s not required until he serves the sentence.

Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Vincent DelGiudice released Abreu, 44, on $25,000 as the appeal process drags along.
