PPP-MQM-P alliance can’t be ruled out, says CM

Kandhkot - The development works initiated by the Sindh government would change the scenario of entire Sindh, especially Karachi, said Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah here on Tuesday.

He was in Kandhkot to meet with local PPP leaders and workers and also to review development works underway in the area.

Addressing a press conference, the CM said the Sindh government had allocated a heavy budget of Rs242 billion for the development of the province, and had spread the network of development projects.

“The overall situation of law and order has improved throughout Sindh as incidents of extortion, target killings and even streets crimes have declined,” he said.

To a question, he replied the process of filling vacant posts in various departments had already started as per the government’s promise.

“Advertisements were published in leading English, Urdu and Sindhi newspapers in order to ensure transparency,” he added.

Regarding the Ghotki-Kandhkot bridge, he said it would be completed through public private partnership and would reduce distance between the two districts.

To question regarding possible alliance with MQM-Pakistan, he replied that alliance with the party could not be ruled out in the larger interests of Sindh.

He further said that solid waste management contract signed with a Chinese company was restricted two only two districts of Karachi, and rest of the city would be managed by Sindh Solid Waste Management Board.

Regarding the issue of Panama leaks, he said that it would have been better to settle it in the parliament rather than approaching the apex court.

The CM also welcomed the appointment of new COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa, and praised the outgoing COAS General Raheel Sharif for championing the CPEC and steering the Nation Action Plan, adding Pakistan Army has a greater role to play in making CPEC a reality. “All the CPEC related road networks have been mostly completed by FWO, especially the western route from Gwadar to Kashghar,” he added.

He assured that the development projects would be completed during his tenure.

“Sindh has been awarded maximum projects under the CPEC,” he said, and added, “Even the appointments in various departments of Sindh will be made on purely merit and a professional recruiting agency would be hired to sift the competent candidates from incompetent and then recommend their names for appointment.

He told media men that although his tenure was very short, still he would try his best to keep his promises with people of Sindh Finally, he headed to Ghouspur to condole with former district Zakat and Ushar Syed Bashir Shah over the death of his mother. After offering condolences, he left for Sukkur by road along with ministers.
