KARACHI: Police and law enforcement agencies jointly raided houses in Manghopir and Korangi areas of the city and arrested two suspected militants on Monday, said a police official. On tip-off the police carried out door to door search operation in Orangi, Manghopir and arrested five terrorists and seized huge cache of ammunitions from their possession. According to the police sources, the two arrested suspects were said to be involved in the murder of a police officer and are affiliated to a militant group headed by Raheem Swati, who is the prime suspect in the murder case of renowned social worker Parveen Rehman. Rehman was shot dead in March 2013; she was the former director of Orangi Pilot Project (OPP). Swati was also apprehended from Manghopir. He is said to be involved in several ethnic and sectarian terrorist acts. While the other three suspects, were wanted to police in attacks on security forces, ransom targeted killings and other heinous crimes according to the police . They have been shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation.
