AVM Studios, has made path-breaking films like Parasakthi (1952), and also introduced Kamal Haasan as a child artiste in Kalathur Kannamma (1959).
The film was a huge hit. Both went on to give us films like Uyarndha Ullam (1985), Sakalakala Vallavan (1983), Thoongadhey Thambi Thoongadhey (1984), Per Sollum Pillai (1988) etc.
The recent buzz is that, after a long time, they are going to collaborate again. It’s being said that the writer-filmmaker Mouli will be helming it. However, City Express learns that the meeting was nothing but more of a courtesy call.
Mouli, who was seen in films like Apoorva Sagotharargal (1989), is a long time friend of Kamal, and had directed him in Pammal K Sambandham (2002). Following that year, Kamal had co-written Mouli’s directorial Nala Damayanthi (2003), which had Madhavan in lead.
Perhaps we should wait until Sabaash Naidu gets released to know the truth! Last year, rumours were rife that Kamal and Mouli were coming together for a comedy film, to be penned by Crazy Mohan. But of course, nothing has been officially confirmed yet!
