Terror attacks in Nagrota, Ramgarh widely condemned

*Bar Association to abstain work in all courts today

JAMMU, Nov 29: Meetings and protests were held to condemn the twin terror attacks in Nagrota and Ramgarh, today.
Speaker Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta strongly condemned the twin bids by terrorists to disrupt the peace in Jammu and Kashmir. The Speaker alongwith MLA Nagrota Devender Singh Rana and MLA Nowshera Ravinder Raina visited Nagrota to express solidarity with the troops.
Reacting to the ongoing terror attack at the Army Camp at Nagrota and the infiltration bid on International Border at Ramgarh in the wee hours today, the Speaker said the increase in activities of the terror outfits is being appropriately responded to by the armed forces.
The Speaker paid rich tributes to the soldiers martyred in the Nagrota attack.
The Speaker further said that Government has a strong outlook against terrorism and these activities will not be tolerated.
“The international community stands united against terrorism and is isolating the terror facilitators in a move to wipe out terrorism from its roots. India stands with the international community and will be an active participant in all measures taken to fulfill this goal”, Kavinder added.
Condemning the cowardice terror attack on an Army formation at Nagrota, National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana paid respectful homage to the brave-hearts, two officers and five jawans, who achieved martyrdom while neutralising three terrorists and averting collateral damage inside the camp and in the nearby civilian area. Rana described terrorism as biggest challenge to the civilized society, saying the world must unite and launch a decisive war against terror.
Former Minister and  Congress MLC,  Jugal Kishore Sharma has expressed grief and shock over the martyrdom of Armymen  in Nagrota  terror attacks  and  said that Government of India should ensure zero tolerance against terrorism since  the whole  nation was united in fight against the menace, which has posed a threat to entire world.
Attack by Pakistan trained and brain washed Fidayeens in Jammu and Kashmir should be eye opener for the advocates of talks with Pakistan and their puppets. State Bharatiya Janata Party Chief Spokesperson Sunil Sethi said that militants attack today at Nagrota should be enough for publicity seeker friends of Pakistan to shut their mouth. Chief Spokesperson said that militants attacking within this State or in other States of country are not only enemy of India but are enemies of humanity.
Condemning today’s Pak sponsored twin terror attacks on Army camp and BSF at Nagrota and Ramgarh respectively, scores of Panther activists spearheaded by Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman JKNPP along with other leaders slammed Pakistan for its despicable cowardly act to vitiate peace and tranquility in the State, at Exhibition Ground Jammu. The angry protestors amid raising anti-Pak slogans torched the effigy of the rogue country. Prominent among those who led the protest included Rajesh Padgotra, Shankar Singh, Naresh Chib, Gagan Pratap, Shyam Gorkha, Amrik Singh, Veerender Singh, Ashok Chauhan, Ravinder Jamwal, Udeyveer and Sansar Chand.
NCP held a meeting under the chairmanship of its State President and Former Minister Randhir Singh and condemned twin terror attacks at Nagrota and Ramgarh. Randhir Singh along with other senior members of NCP paid rich tributes to the martyrs who were killed in today’s gunfight in Nagrota and expressed sympathy with their families. Er Rishi Kilam, State Nationalist Youth Congress President, Sanjay Rana, President State Nationalist Student Congress, Krishan Kumar Digra, Dr Liaquat Ali Magray, Satpal Sharma, Raj Singh Jamwal, RS Billowaria, Javed F Rehman, RC Bali and many others were present on the occasion.
Shri Ram Sena (SRS), State President, Rajiv Mahajan condemned the twin terrorist attack on the Indian Army and Border Security Force at Nagrota and Ramgarh. In a statement, Rajiv Mahajan urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take stock of the security situation in the country to ensure terror attacks on Indian soil emanating from Pakistan do not recur. Strongly condemning terrorist attacks, Rajiv Mahajan expressed condolences to families of the brave soldiers martyred in the attack.
Prof Bhim Singh, Chief Patron of National Panthers Party has urged the President Pranab Mukherjee to direct the Governor of J&K, NN Vohra, to dismiss the present J&K Government. He said Nagrota attack is sufficient to prove that present Government of J&K has totally collapsed and lost control even over the internal security in the State.
J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu held a meeting under the chairmanship of its President Abhinav Sharma and condemned the twin attacks by militants in Samba and Nagrota. J&K High Court Bar Association, Jammu has decided to abstain from work in all the courts including High Court, Subordinate Courts and Tribunals tomorrow in order to show solidarity and also the concern.
President, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri has called the Nagrota terror attack as attack on national conscience and urged for review of defence systems. Nagrota attack is clear attempt to destabilize the internal harmony in our nation, he said and expressed condolence to the families of the martyrs.
Shiv Shakti Sena, J&K staged a protest demonstration near Press Club Jammu against the militants attack on Army and BSF at Nagrota and Ramgarh. The protestors led by Rakesh Gupta, President, Shiv Shakti Sena, J&K, raised slogans against the Government for its failure to keep check over militancy related activities. Among others present were Shiv Deep Gupta, Sat Pal Sharma, Devanshu, Sonu Kumar, Ashwani Gupta, Kaka, Rahul Gupta and Aman Kumar.
VHP senior leader and patron, Dr Rama Kant Dubey has said instead of condemning the Fidayeen attacks the Government and administration needs to be grilled for security lapses. Expressing his serious concern over the repeated Fidayeen attacks, Dr Dubey said it is unfortunate that the Government as well as security agencies have not learnt any lesson from Pathankot, Uri and other terrorist attacks as it has completely failed to tighten the security grid at vital installations. Dr Dubey who termed the Nagrota attack a big security lapse and intelligence failure said and the Government needs to review the same and infuse the life among the intelligence and security agencies.
All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) has also termed the attack on Nagrota Army Camp as a big security lapse and failure of intelligence agencies to prevent the same. AMCCC present Desh Rattan said India has failed to make a firm policy for last 40 years after the insurgency started in Assam followed by Punjab and J&K. Had the successive Governments taken it as a challenge and framed a concrete policy the situation could have been different at present. He said India needs to create a separate force for countering insurgency and terrorism on the pattern of Israel and instead of making speeches it is high time for Government to act now.
Displaced Kashmiri Sikh Conference president Harmo-hinder Singh has also strongly condemned the attack and demanded that Government should frame a firm policy in countering insurgency.
